Concussion
Passing on experience
My name is Stuart Corsar and 8 years a go I had to retire from rugby due to concussion.
There was not the same information for players and coaches back then and when I received my first concussion I shrugged it off and continued to play.
Over the course of the season I lied to coaches and loved ones about the effects as I just wanted to play.
Headaches, mood swings, memory loss, struggling to speak, loss of focus were all just a part that affected me then and have an effect now 8 years later.
Coaches you do not know what is going off in a players head - If in doubt, get them off and keep them off.
Players be honest, you are better losing a season of rugby rather than losing the game all together, your loved ones or your work.
